FDA Authorizes Second Booster Dose of Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine for Older  Individuals

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday authorized a second booster dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for people 65 years of age and older and certain immunocompromised individuals.

The decision comes as the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations is rising in the United States, driven by the BA.5 subvariant of the Omicron variant.
